Casa Lenka is located in the heart of Malchina village. This house exists for more than 100 years on the main square of Malchina.
During the Great War (WWI) Malchina such as many villages in the surroundings was heavily demolished. Many buildings were razed to the ground. But this building survived.
There is an archive photo from 1917. testifying about the presence of the same building in that terrible times.
The present owner bought it in 2015. The house was completely renovated in a typical style for this area. The materials used are of high quality - a combination of various materials such as solid wood, stone and ceramics. Employing traditional materials not only captures the iconic look and feel but here in Karst, is required by law to maintain the history of the area.
Why Casa Lenka? We don’t know for sure if any Lenka used to live there, but one of the neighbors mentioned this building was known as a Lenka’s house so we decided to revive it.
